Interior Tool
The Visual Interior Tool provides a step-by-step guidance through the Lumen
Method calculation, as described in the IESNA Handbook. The Interior Tool is
limited to rectangular, interior spaces where uniform, horizontal illuminance is
the goal. The following list summarizes the features of the Interior Tool:
- Specify individual room surface reflectances or choose from a list of industry-standard
values.
- Use any IESNA LM-63, EULUMDAT or CIBSE TM-14 formatted photometric file or enter
the CU value, if working form a cutsheet.
- Use the Light Loss Factor calculator to determine the IES recommended Light Loss
Factor or choose from a list of industry-standard values.
- Choose from an open ceiling plan, a 2x4 or 2x2 ceiling grid.
- Use the IES Illuminance Selection Guide to find IES recommended illuminance values.
- Calculate the lighting design in real-time based on desired average illuminance,
desired number of fixtures or desired power density.
- Constrain the design to meet real-world conditions.
- Export the design to Visual Basic or Professional Editions to perform point-by-point
calculations.
- Work in ft/fc, ft/lux, m/fc or m/lux.
The Interior Tool is included with both the Visual and Professional Editions.
